Dr. Shannon Robinson, D.Ac, L.Ac, Dipl.Ac.
About Me.
I have a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine from Northwestern Health Sciences University. I am nationally board-certified (NCCAOM) and licensed by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice. Prior to my graduate training, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a BFA in Graphic Design. I worked at a design firm and later as a freelance designer for ten years. I have always been interested in fitness, sports, and living a healthy lifestyle. My involvement with health and human services evolved organically through hands-on experience caring for my immediate family and several terminally ill extended family members. These experiences allowed me to minister and assist them in whatever capacity was needed—spiritually, emotionally, mentally, or physically. My personal journey of self-discovery and healing ultimately led me to Chinese medicine. As a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner, I focus on patient care and clinical results. I enjoy treating everyone who walks through my door, recognizing that each patient is unique. While I have a particular interest in mental health, pain conditions, and chronic illnesses, I truly enjoy treating a wide variety of ailments. More recently, I have become especially passionate about helping women navigate perimenopause and menopause. (Check out my blog post on a Holistic Approach to Menopause!) I love discussing all aspects of Chinese Medicine with my patients and empowering individuals to find their inner strength to transform and improve their lives through physical care, education, and mentoring. My scope of practice includes traditional Chinese acupuncture, cupping, gua sha (dermal friction), tui na (Chinese medical massage), Chinese herbal medicine, food therapy, and supplements. During my downtime, I enjoy spending time in nature, taking long walks, gardening, strength training, and cherishing moments with friends and family. I also love creative projects and woodworking.
